Dear friends and colleagues, Brothers and Sisters in the Ehnic Press and Media:

As we celebrate the birthday of this great country of ours, I want to express my best wishes to all of you and to thank you for your commitment and services to our fellow citizens of every linguistic and cultural community. I want also to emphasize that despite of the recognition or not by the political establishment of the country, your services are appreciated by most of the Canadians and we are all thankful to you and to your coworkers for your tireless efforts to educate and inform the new citizens of this country of ours. Long live Canada, our Country and home of all us.

Secondly I want to inform you that we are working the last details on the upcoming first exhibition of the ethnic press and media of Canada. 120 publications are joining us by participating in this exhibition, way up from the 60 we originally were planning. CHIN Radio is joining us as a co-organizer and will broadcast from the Rotunda of the Toronto City Hall, during the 6 days of this venue. I am sure that the Fairchild Radio and Television also would be with us during this time.

On Monday July the 7th, at 6:00 pm, as you know we are organizing the official opening of the exhibition. Honouring this event confirmed to be with us 35 officials from the federal, the provincial and the city political establishment as well as members of the diplomatic missions in Toronto.

According to your decision we are organizing for this night a reception and would provide live music and multicultural entertainment. At this point I believe that we have Greek and Chinese and Indian dancing groups and hope that more will come along by the end of this week. Bring the leaders of your community with you and please come to enjoy.

Also at the end of the exhibition, remember Monday, July the 14th,we are holding our Monthly meeting at Queen’s Park, committee room N# 2. Mr. Scott Shortliffe, from Canadian Heritage will be our speaker together with few others.

Also during this meeting I would distribute to our members tickets for the upcoming session of the Canadian National Exhibition. We are participating and our show is scheduled for the last Sunday August 31st at 3 and 6 pm.

Hope to see you all next Monday, July the 7th at the Toronto City Hall, at 6:00 pm.

With every respect,

Thomas S. Saras
