Welcome Remarks by the Chair:
Dr. Lamba
chaired the meeting and declared the meeting open.
Suleiman Guven moved a motion to approve the agenda, Pali seconded
it. The motion was carried.
Minutes of the previous
meeting:
Suleiman
Guven moved a motion to approve the minutes of the previous monthly
meeting held on October 15, 2012. Peter Galiatsos seconded it.
The motion was carried.
President’s
Report/Discussions
·
President Thomas Saras expects a very busy year ahead with many
important projects and events for NEPMCC.
·
Dr. Lamba moved a motion to propose a vote of thanks to Asha Rajak
for her efforts for a very successful awards ceremony. The motion was
moved by Suleiman Guven and carried by all.
·
President Thomas Saras informed members that applicant guide for
aid to publishers’ component of the Canada Periodical Fund is now
available on Heritage Canada website.
·
President Thomas Saras suggested that Asha Rajak can provide
professional help to members needing help in filling out the application
for Canada Periodical Fund. The deadline to submit this application is
November 24
·
President Thomas Saras informed the members that the book launching
on the ethnic survey conducted by NEPMCC will take place on November 19,
at Toronto Dominion Centre. A Special reception for the award recipients
will also take place on Monday November the 19th at the Toronto Dominion
Tower at 66 Wellington Street West, 5th floor, In Toronto. Attendance at
this event is also by invitation. President urged the members intending to
attend the event to inform his office at the earliest as there is very
limited space available. This event would be attended by various Federal
ministers MPs, MPPs from major national political parties.

2012Annual Dinner will take place on December 14 at the Cypriot
Community Centre. President Thomas Saras informed members that tickets for
this event are almost sold out. The last remaining tickets for the annual
dinner were sold during the meeting for $25 per ticket.

Motion: Motion was moved by Suleiman Guven to give authorization to
President to spend the necessary amounts for food and wine and any other
related expenses for the
events of NEPMCC in 2012 as required. Motion was seconded by Ahmad Shah
Hotaki and carried by all
New Business

suggested that those members who want Media pass urgently should pay a fee
of $10
Motion: A
motion to this regard was moved by Suleiman Guven and seconded by Ahmad
Shah Hotaki. The motion was carried
Dr. Lamba
welcomed the following new members to the organization and hoped they
would be active participants for the cause of the organization.

Adjournment:
Dr.
Tajdolati moved a motion to adjourn the meeting. Rakhee Prabhakar seconded it. The motion was carried. The
chair Dr. Lamba adjourned the meeting at 8:30 pm. The next meeting would
take place on December 10, 2012 at Queens Park.
